How come athletes do not stretch?

They are told to by their coaches and parents.  But for some reason they don't.

I thought about it and the only conclusion or answer I thought would be a good enough excuse for the athlete- is that they do not know why stretching is important.

IF only he or she would just realize the impact stretching has on their muscles and most importantly their performance.

I am not saying each athlete should taka an anatomy and physiology course but athletes do need to know the benefits of a good all around stretching program.

Now I won't go into all the benefits here in this post.  I will be writing that post at a later date.  Reason being- because it will take me sometime to discuss all the good stuff I need to get across.

For now, I just wanted to vent a little and try and figure out why athletes just do not stretch enough.

Keep an eye out for my in depth post in stretching.

Happy training (stretching)

Hey future all star, Jim here coming at you with some insight.

As athletes we all strive to be the best.

Well at least most if of us.  We all want to be the Michael Jordan of our sport.

Some of us born with certain skills some of us are not.

Meaning some athletes are naturally strong or naturally quick.

Others have to work really hard at developing those aspects of their athleticism.

You can workout out on your own.

Maybe take the advise from coaches or friends.

Or maybe even try some of the drills you see online that professional athletes perform.

All we would like to sat the any of those options is, "be careful."

Make sure you know what you are doing and why.  You do not want to hurt yourself.

I see it all the time.  An athlete see's some really cool exercise or drill and they go ahead and try it but do not consider the level of difficulty or how their body will respond.

And what usually happens?  You're correct.  They hurt themselves.

So, all I want to say is if you are doing your own workouts, just be careful.

If you want to discuss your current workout plan or routine we are offering FREE 30 minute advise talks,

To get your FREE advice talk. with Jim & JR.  All you have to do is submit your name, email and tell us what sport or any additional information you would like to let us know before we talk.

We are here for your resource and help make sure you are doing everything you can (the right way) to become the nest athlete you can be.

So take advantage of our offer and let us help answer any questions you have.

Thank and we look forward to speaking with you.
